Student Registration…is
a web-based tool designed to allow students to view courses, class information,
select course schedules, print student schedules and submit class selection for
approval on-line.
The module plugs easily into existing your college web page. The application
allows students to pre-register for classes. Advisors review student class
selections and approve or disapprove selection.
My Student Portal
displays class size, seat availability, instructor, class location and time.
Students and Advisors may print copies of the schedule for their personal
records.
For optimum security and control, this step in the registration process does
not automatically register the student in Fx/Registrar. When a
Student Advisor is part of the registration process, the Advisor can view
pending enrollments and enter approval information on-line. The final
registration step is secured by the registrar or Campus Portal college
administrator.
HOW IT WORKS:
Students

college WWW Home Page, a link is provided to the Student Portal.

Password and sign-on are required.

The On-line
Registration area provides links to Course Catalog and class information.

Students may
pre-register for courses. Matched to a semester’s deadlines, pre-registration
creates reports for individual advisor review and action prior to finalizing
individual student registrations.
Advisor
·
Password and
sign-on required.

Advisor
Portal links to each Student associated with the advisor and Student Profile
data.

Registration
links to Course Catalog description and Class Information.
·
Advisor may
approve or disapprove student class selection.
·
Student
portal is updated with status as selected by Advisor.
Faculty
·
View their
course schedule from any computer on campus network.
·
View student rosters.
·
Enter and Track Class
Events like Attendance, Labs, special assignments.

Do general or
individualized Class email from Class Roster
Registrar
·
Registrar
imports file with student selections and advisor approval updates into base
module.
·
File shows
Enroll Count Tally and Times of Student Sign-up, aiding registration decisions
when a class is over-subscribed.

An initial
Edit List may be printed.
·
The original
Import file may be archived.
·
Registrar
reviews file and makes final class registration decisions.
·
Registrar
exports Student Status and Class Enrollment back to the Portal for viewing by
students and advisors.
